Tamuning, Guam; Tuesday, July 6, 2021- Senior Airman Restine Hernandez, an Air Transportation Journeyman under the 44th Aerial Port Squadron, recently graduated from the United States Air Force Airmen Leadership School (ALS) at Andersen Air Force Base and received the highly coveted John L. Levitow Award.
The prestigious award is given to the airman who demonstrates the highest standards of leadership and scholastic capabilities and is chosen based on their top academic performance reviews by peers and final evaluations by instructors. The John L. Levitow Award is given out every year, but Hernandez is the first reservist since 2018 to receive the award. Recipients of the award are set to attend the annual Outstanding Airman of the Year conference in Florida.
Airmen Leadership School (ALS) is the first level of Professional Military Education to prepare Senior Airmen for positions of greater responsibility by strengthening their ability to lead, follow, and manage in their military profession.
Hernandez also takes on a key leadership role as the Director of Human Resources at GTA, developing human resources goals, policies, and strategies while instilling a learning culture across the entire organization.
