Tamuning, Guam- Tuesday, June 2, 2020 — As the island and the world deal with the novel coronavirus pandemic, health and government officials continue to urge individuals to wear protective masks while out in public to prevent the spread of COVID-19.  As part of its commitment to the community, GTA recently donated 10,000 face masks to various local nonprofit organizations and healthcare clinics.

Families are faced with a new normal where they must choose between purchasing masks to stay safe or using their income or savings to put food on the table.  By donating masks to our community, GTA is hoping to help those who are struggling from hardships due to the pandemic and help mitigate the spread.

Roland Certeza President, says, “Giving back and taking care of each other has always been a part of the GTA DNA.  We realize the struggles many families face as they slowly adjust to this new normal way of life. We hope that with the donation of protective face masks, our most vulnerable communities will feel more ease when they leave their homes and continue to live their daily lives.”

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March, GTA has made numerous contributions to support the local community through its TEAM UP FOR GUAM initiative.  For more information on how we continue to support groups in times of need, visit our website:  https://www.gta.net/here-for-you/.
