Tamuning, Guam-Friday,April17,2020-As distance learning grows, the access to internet and the tools needed to participate is still a concern for some students. The University of Guam (UOG), has made progress in helping their students succeed in completing their spring semester. The classroom experience has changed and so has the access to receiving quality education for students without smart devices or limited to no internet access in their homes.

GTA teams up for education by working with UOG to address the new classroom dynamic which is paving the way to support the new education experience. “We are happy to help students at this time. It’s more than just connections, it’s about empowering explorations and realizing innovative solutions to learn and dream together as a community,” states GTA President, Roland Certeza.

GTA provided smart phones with three months of servicefor40 students to allow them access to get online and progress their academia. With GTA’s support and that of our business partners, we have been able to move almost all of our classes completely online,” said UOG Senior Vice President and Provost Anita Borja Enriquez. “Internet access and connectivity is absolutely necessary for learning while social distancing. GTA’s generous contribution removes a barrier and will help many of our students succeed in this new format.”
