(Tamuning, Guam) Thursday, January 26, 2023- GTA celebrated Chinese New Year, the Year of the Rabbit, with a traditional lion dance performance by the Chinese School of Guam. GTA employees and customers attended the festivities at the GTA Experience Center in Tamuning yesterday.
In Chinese culture, the lion symbolizes power, wisdom, and superiority. Groups perform lion dances at festivals or big occasions to bring good fortune and chase away evil spirits. It is one of the most important traditions of Chinese New Year and is performed to bring prosperity and good luck for the upcoming year.
For many years, students from the Chinese School of Guam have performed the lion dance, visiting different businesses and school establishments, and GTA is proud to participate in their efforts.
