(Tamuning, Guam) Friday, February 10, 2023- GTA, Guam's longest serving technology company, hosted its first-ever smartphone workshop for senior citizens at the Macheche Community Center in Dededo.
The one-hour workshop empowers seniors by introducing them to the latest technology in smartphones and help them stay connected with their loved ones. Smartphone technology has become an integral part of our everyday lives, but for many seniors, it can be a daunting task to learn. GTA's smartphone workshop led by the SMART Center Team is designed to help seniors understand the basics of smartphone technology and how to use it to their advantage.
"We are thrilled to be hosting this workshop for senior citizens in our community. At GTA, we believe that technology should be accessible to everyone, and this workshop is a step towards that goal," said Michele Catahay Perez, Community Relations Manager at GTA. "Our aim is to help seniors stay connected with their loved ones and make their lives easier and more convenient with the latest technology."
The workshop covered everything from setting up a device to using apps, making calls and sending messages. GTA SMART Center team members were present to answer questions and provide hands-on assistance.
Cory Flores, Director of Technical Support at GTA, says, "Technology has the power to bridge the gap between generations and bring people closer together. It is our privilege to share our knowledge and help seniors navigate the ever-evolving world of smartphone technology."
Attendees also received easy-to-read guides to take home with them, so they can continue to learn and use their newfound skills.
