(Tamuning, Guam), Wednesday, July 19, 2023 – GTA announced today that it will accept donations for a Back to School Drive to benefit Harvest House. Guam has over 600 foster children, with less than 70 active and licensed foster homes.
Starting today through Monday, July 31, donations of brand-new backpacks, tennis shoes, and water bottles will be accepted. Island residents can drop donations at the GTA Experience Center in Tamuning and Micronesia Mall.
Harvest House is a ministry that supports foster children's physical and social growth, mental and emotional strength, and spiritual uplifting. GTA is passionate about giving back to the island community as a local corporation. With the youth being the future of Guam, it is vital to support their growth and needs.
Joanna Javellana, Office Assistant and Volunteer Coordinator at Harvest House says, "Some foster children have faced difficulties and hardships due to the recent typhoon. From the loss of possessions, loss of conveniences, loss of structure and safety, and even loss of homes, it has been even more devastating to see a child displaced and put in a shelter. With your help, we can ease the burden of getting ready to return to school."
Nate Denight, Vice President of Product and Marketing at GTA, emphasizes the importance of giving back, stating, "We have a strong sense of community at GTA, and I am proud to witness the generosity of our team, customers, and the island community. By coming together, we can provide the future generation with a solid foundation of support."
