(Tamuning, Guam) Monday, April 1, 2024– GTA proudly announces its ongoing sponsorship of Guam History Day, a comprehensive program dedicated to immersing middle and high school students in the exploration of Guam's rich cultural heritage. Organized by the Guam Preservation Trust and University of Guam Micronesian Area Research Center (MARC), this initiative stands as a beacon for cultural preservation and community engagement, with GTA's unwavering support spanning over a decade.
Throughout this yearlong journey, students delve into Guam's vibrant history through research, reading, writing, visual projects, and performances, fostering a profound connection to their heritage. GTA's sponsorship underscores its steadfast dedication to educational endeavors that cultivate cultural awareness and appreciation within our community.
Furthermore, the culmination of Guam History Day, which occured on Saturday, March 23 at the University of Guam, highlights students' outstanding presentations. These talented individuals will also have the opportunity to represent Guam at the National History Day Competition during the summer.
