GTA Hosts First Mobile Manåmko’ Workshop of the Year in Malesso’

(Malesso’, Guam) Monday, June 2, 2025 — GTA kicked off its 2025 Mobile Manåmko’ Workshop series on Wednesday, May 28, in the southern village of Malesso’. This free digital literacy workshop welcomed senior citizens and offered hands-on support to help them confidently use their mobile devices. Now in its third year, the program continues to grow and impact villages across the island.

Led by GTA’s Smart Center technicians and company volunteers, participants received one-on-one guidance on essential smartphone features—including messaging, email, and online safety.

“Mobile Manåmko’ is more than just a tech session—it’s about empowering our manåmko’ with confidence and connection,” said Michele Catahay Perez, Director of Community Relations at GTA. “We’re proud to bring this program back to our villages and continue supporting our seniors year after year.”

Ann Tyquiengco, Senior Center Manager and participant shared, “We are very happy. GTA staff outnumbered our seniors, but we’re all happy. I received more information on how to deal with my cell phone, and we all appreciate it. Thank you for making us learn more about how to work with our devices. Thank you, GTA.”

This marks the first Mobile Manåmko’ Workshop of the year, continuing GTA’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and promoting inclusion for Guam’s elderly community. GTA will be in the village of Inalahan on Wednesday, June 11 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.
