(Tamuning, Guam) Monday, August 11, 2025 – GTA is helping local students start the school year ready for success by donating much-needed school supplies to Mañe'lu, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Guam’s youth and families.
Throughout the month of July, GTA customers and employees came together to contribute more than 800 school supply items, including backpacks, notebooks, folders, colored pencils, markers, and other essentials. The donation drive was held at GTA retail locations across the island, with the community’s generosity culminating in a special presentation to Mañe'lu on Monday, August 11.
This year’s beneficiary, Mañe'lu, was chosen by GTA employees as part of the company’s commitment to supporting causes that matter most to its team and the community.
“We’re so grateful to our customers and employees who showed up with such generosity,” said Sharon Davis, Senior Vice President of Community Engagement and External Affairs at GTA. “When our community comes together like this, we’re doing more than filling backpacks — we’re helping make the first day of school a little brighter and the year ahead a little less stressful for families. Partnering with Mañe'lu allows us to stand alongside students and let them know their island is rooting for them.”
"With the back-to-school season here, this will make a meaningful impact for many students. We visit numerous GHURA housing communities, where many children lack the supplies they need," said Daena Mansapit, Executive Director of Mañe'lu. She adds, "The school supplies collected will be distributed to students served by Mañe'lu, helping to further the organization’s mission of providing resources, guidance, and opportunities for Guam’s youth. Thank you, GTA!"
GTA’s donation drive is part of the company’s GTA Gives program, which supports local nonprofits, community initiatives, and volunteer projects throughout the year.
