(Tamuning, Guam) Wednesday, February 11, 2026 — GTA is proud to support Team Guam bodyboarders as they head to Hawaii this week to compete in the Hawaii Pipeline Bodyboarding Championship on Oahu’s North Shore from Feb. 20 to March 5, 2026. The event is widely regarded as one of the most demanding and respected stages in the sport.
Through GTA Gives, GTA is providing airline miles to help cover travel for the team, supporting local athletes as they represent Guam among 96 of the world’s top bodyboarders and carry the island’s name beyond its shores.
Representing Guam at Pipeline are competing athletes John Barber and Jonathan Leon Guerrero, joined by Carl Delacruz and Chris Santos, who will serve as team managers and videographers. Their invitation reflects years of dedication, international competition experience, and a growing presence for Guam within the global bodyboarding community.
“Being invited to a Pipeline event is a dream event for any bodyboarder,” said Carl Delacruz of the Guahan Bodyboarders organization. “To compete there representing Guam, and knowing our island community believes in our athletes, means everything. We’re grateful to GTA for helping make this journey possible.”
“At GTA, being a truly local company means standing behind the people who represent Guam on and off the island,” said Michele Catahay Perez, director of community relations at GTA. “These athletes have put in the work, stayed committed to their craft, and we’re proud to support them as they represent Guam on an international stage.”
GTA extends its best wishes to Team Guam for a safe journey and a strong showing at the Pipeline Bodyboarding Championship. The company wishes the team the best of luck as they represent Guam on the world stage.
