(TAMUNING, Guam) Thursday, April 9, 2026 — In celebration of Women’s History Month, GTA partnered with the Guam Women’s Chamber of Commerce (GWCC) to host the “Everyday Confidence” Clothing Drive throughout March, supporting women in need across the island.
Now in its second year, the initiative began as an internal effort among GTA employees and expanded this year through collaboration with GWCC, inviting the broader community to participate. The drive benefited Alee Shelter and Island Girl Power, organizations dedicated to uplifting and empowering women and girls.
The response was overwhelming. Over the course of the month, the community contributed more than 80 bags and 8 large boxes of clothing donations. The level of generosity exceeded expectations, with both primary beneficiary organizations receiving such strong support that they were unable to accept additional items.
To ensure all donations continued to make an impact, remaining items were distributed to Catholic Social Service and The Salvation Army, extending the reach of the initiative to even more individuals and families in need.
“This initiative is about more than clothing—it’s about confidence, dignity, and community,” said Michele Catahay Perez, Director of Community Relations at GTA. “We’re incredibly proud to see our employees, partners, and the community come together to support and uplift women across Guam.”
Through partnerships like this, GTA continues its commitment to strengthening the community and creating meaningful opportunities to give back.
