GTA Activates Storm Preparations as Tropical Storm Sinlaku Approaches Guam

(Tamuning, Guam) Friday, April 10, 2026- GTA is closely monitoring storm conditions and has activated preparedness measures to help keep customers connected as Tropical Storm Sinlaku approaches the Marianas.

Preparedness efforts include fueling generators and service vehicles, reinforcing backup power systems at all facilities, conducting visual inspections with remediation and strengthening, securing all Cell on Wheels (COWs), stabilizing construction areas, and pre-positioning recovery equipment.  GTA’s Network Operations Center will remain fully staffed throughout the storm.

The company has also strengthened power resilience with backup generators supporting backup systems, upgraded generator capacity, and hardened cable facilities.

While these efforts enhance network resilience, disruptions will ultimately depend on storm conditions, including power availability and potential infrastructure damage. Customers should be prepared for possible service interruptions during and after the storm.

Customers are encouraged to charge devices, prepare backup power if available, limit usage to essential communications during peak impact, and monitor local media outlets and Guam Homeland Security updates. GTA will continue to provide updates as conditions evolve.

Customers can reach GTA by calling 671-644-4482 or by chatting live at www.gta.net. For the latest updates, follow GTA on social media. We remain committed to supporting the island community before, during, and after the storm.
