GTA Announces Early Closure Due to Typhoon Sinlaku

(Tamuning, Guam - Sunday, April 12, 2026)- As Typhoon Sinlaku approaches, GTA has been actively preparing since Friday, securing equipment, inspecting and strengthening facilities, and reinforcing network readiness to support the community.

Guam is expected to transition into Condition of Readiness (COR) 2 at 5PM today as the storm continues to approach.

For the safety of our customers and employees, GTA retail stores and call center will close at 5PM today, 4/12/26 due to storm conditions.

While GTA’s network is supported by backup power systems and hardened infrastructure, extended outages may still impact services depending on conditions. Customers are encouraged to charge devices and limit usage to essential communications during peak impact.

GTA will continue to keep the community updated on operations and service restoration through our Instagram and Facebook pages. Customers are encouraged to monitor local media, the U.S. National Weather Service, and Guam Homeland Security/Office of Civil Defense for official updates.

We encourage everyone to stay safe and prepared.

UPDATE AS OF: 4/12/26, 3:00PM
