Tamuning, Guam, Saturday, October 24, 2020- GTA is excited to announce this year’s 2020-2021 Youth Leaders: Lexis Sablan from Tiyan High, Minami Cramer from Harvest Christian Academy, Jim Pamplona from Simon Sanchez High, Justine Xu from St. John's School, and Jenna Treaster from Guam High School.
A Virtual Zoom event was held today via live stream on GTA’s Facebook page. GTA said farewell to the 2019-2020 Youth Leaders Avinash Dhanraj and Austia Mendiola, they are proud to welcome not two but five new Youth Leaders for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year!
As we embark on our second year, the focus will continue to succeed in matters on leadership, planning and execution, advocacy for positive change, proper and professional communication and use of social media. Today, our youth are facing unprecedented situations. They are forced to constantly adapt to the changes in result of this pandemic. From the constant fear, confusion, curiosity, stress and more; now more than ever, our Youth need an outlet of positivity and creativity.
The guidance we strive for our Youth Leader Program to offer will advocate our mission in creating a positive change in a safe and healthy environment. All high school students on Guam were encouraged to apply for the GTA Youth Leader position, and an overwhelming amount of applications were submitted by competitive candidates exemplifying their achievements and the impact they have made in the community.
