(Tamuning, Guam -Tuesday, July 14, 2026) - As global demand for cloud services, artificial intelligence, subsea capacity, and resilient digital infrastructure continues to grow, Guam’s strategic role in the Indo-Pacific is becoming increasingly important.
GTA recently participated in International Telecoms Week 2026, held May 18–21 in National Harbor, Maryland. One of the telecommunications industry’s premier global events, ITW brought together more than 7,000 leaders from the telecommunications, cloud, subsea cable, data center, and digital infrastructure sectors.
Representatives from GTA Data Centers hosted an exhibit booth throughout the conference, meeting with customers, global carriers, cloud providers, and infrastructure partners from around the world.
“Guam’s location gives us a unique position in the Indo-Pacific, but location alone is not enough,” said Roland Certeza, President and CEO of GTA. “GTA’s continued investment in infrastructure, partnerships, and operational excellence is what allows us to support customers who need resilient, diverse, and trusted connectivity across the Pacific.”
Through its cable landing infrastructure, carrier-neutral facilities, islandwide fiber network, and recently opened GU3 Data Center, GTA continues to invest in the digital infrastructure that supports regional and global connectivity. GTA’s data center solutions support colocation, interconnection, deployment, and remote hands services for local and global enterprises, government, carriers, and network service providers.
These investments help position Guam as a gateway between Asia, the Pacific, and the United States at a time when international data transport, cloud adoption, and AI-driven workloads are placing greater demand on resilient network infrastructure.
“Our customers are planning for a future that requires more capacity, more redundancy, and more reliable access to cloud, content, and data services,” said Brett Lay, President and CEO of GTA Data Center Operations. “GTA Data Centers is focused on providing the interconnection, colocation, and operational support needed to help them grow with confidence in the region.”
Beyond the conference floor, GTA continued conversations with customers, carriers, and industry partners, strengthening relationships that support Guam’s growing role in regional and global connectivity.
Earlier this year, GTA Data Centers also participated in the Pacific Telecommunications Council Conference, PTC’26, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Together, PTC and ITW provide valuable opportunities for GTA to engage with industry leaders, stay informed on emerging trends, and showcase Guam’s strategic importance in the evolving global digital economy.
For nearly 75 years, GTA has connected Guam to the world. Today, the company remains committed to advancing the infrastructure, innovation, and strategic relationships that support Guam’s long-term growth, resiliency, and role as a digital gateway in the Indo-Pacific.
