GTA Honored by Guam Legislature for Commitment to Island’s Elderly Through Mobile Manamko' Workshop Series

(Tamuning, Guam) Thursday, May 30, 2024 – GTA is proud to announce that it has been honored with a Certificate of Recognition from the Guam Legislature. This award commends GTA's steadfast commitment to the island's manamko' (elders) through the innovative Mobile Manamko' workshop series, which the local telecom launched in 2023. The recognition is particularly meaningful as it coincides with the celebration of Senior Citizen Month, underlining the company's dedication to supporting and enriching the lives of senior citizens by teaching them to use technology in their everyday lives. To date, GTA has conducted seven workshops since the series' launch.

The presentation ceremony took place on Monday, May 20 at the Santa Rita Senior Citizen Center. The Mobile Manamko' workshops have been a vital resource, providing opportunities for engagement, education, and connection for our elders. This accolade is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in the program.

GTA extends a special acknowledgment to our exceptional GTA Gives volunteers, who were also recognized during the event for their unwavering commitment and generosity.

GTA remains committed to continuing support for the island’s senior citizens and ensuring that they have the resources and knowledge to stay connected in today’s digital world.
