(Tamuning, Guam) Friday, August 7, 2026- As students prepare to return to the classroom, GTA is helping local children start the school year with the tools they need to succeed.
Throughout the month of July, GTA held a back-to-school supply drive at its retail stores, inviting employees, customers, and the community to donate new classroom supplies for local students. The drive resulted in 375 school supply items being donated to Sanctuary, Inc., including backpacks, notebooks, pencils, lunch bags, rulers, folders, and other classroom essentials.
"At GTA, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to start the school year prepared and confident," said Michele Catahay Perez, Director of Community Relations at GTA. "Our annual school supply drive is a reflection of what can be accomplished when our employees, customers, and community come together to support local families. We're grateful to partner with Sanctuary, Inc. to help students begin the school year ready to learn."
Following its recent merger with WestCare Pacific Islands (WPI), Sanctuary is dedicated to enhancing the lives of youth and families throughout the island. Its mission focuses on fostering healing and reconciliation during family challenges, advocating for the needs of young people, and supporting their journey toward independence.
GTA is proud to support the organization's mission and help provide local students with the supplies they need for a successful school year.
The annual school supply drive reflects GTA's ongoing commitment to giving back through employee volunteerism, charitable giving, and partnerships that strengthen Guam's families and communities.
