(Malesso', Guam) Tuesday, March 19, 2025 – GTA is proud to announce its $1,000 sponsorship of the upcoming Gupot CHamoru Crab Festival in Malesso', scheduled from March 28 to 30, 2025, at the Malesso' pier. Now in its 17th year, the festival is set to draw thousands of residents to the southern village.
The festival will feature food and game concessions, offering attendees a variety of local delicacies and entertainment options. A highlight of the event is the popular crab catching competition, which returns this year to the delight of festivalgoers.
Reflecting on GTA's partnership with the Malesso' community, Michele Catahay Perez, Director of Community Relations at GTA, stated, "Our support for the Crab Festival reflects our commitment to preserving Malesso’s rich culture. Last year, we gifted the village a mural by local artist Lee San Nicolas, celebrating its history. We’re honored to continue this tradition and support this year’s festival, bringing our island together and strengthening community connections."
Malesso' Mayor Franklin Champaco said, "GTA’s support helps unite our community and celebrate Malesso’s traditions. Their contributions leave a lasting impact, and we’re grateful for their continued partnership."
Attendees can anticipate a weekend filled with cultural displays, culinary delights, and family-friendly activities that honor the heritage of Malesso'.
GTA remains dedicated to initiatives that enrich the communities it serves, fostering connections and celebrating the island's diverse cultural landscape.
