(Tamuning, Guam) April 28, 2026 - In recognition of National Volunteer Week, GTA honored employees who have made a meaningful impact through volunteerism across the island, reaffirming the company’s commitment to community even amid ongoing recovery efforts following Super Typhoon Sinlaku.
Despite the challenges of the past weeks, GTA took time to celebrate the dedication of its team members, recognizing individuals and groups whose service continues to strengthen the community. Employees were presented with awards, certificates, and tokens of appreciation in acknowledgment of their contributions.
- Rachel Catherine Manglona, Community Champion Award (70.5 hours)
- Kelly Cook, Service Excellence Award (67 hours)
- Alvin Christopher D.V. Lopez, Champion Builder Award (48 hours)
Special awards highlighted employees whose service extends beyond traditional volunteer efforts, including:
- Miguel D. Abratique, Legacy of Service Award for his leadership in GTA-led volunteer initiatives and participation in 16 Mobile Manåmko’ Workshops
- Cana Nicole D. Bukikosa, Melody of Giving Award for her dedication to her church choir
- Michael Cruz and Sean F. Camacho, Heart of a Coach Award for volunteering as Special Olympics softball coaches
- Ione Skye Llagas, recognized for her continued service through GTA-led initiatives and the Guam Young Professionals Committee
- Andrew M. Gayle, Executive Leadership in Service Award, honoring his long-standing commitment as a MATHCOUNTS moderator and Chairman for the Guam Solid Waste Authority
Team recognitions also highlighted the collective impact of groups supporting initiatives like the Mobile Manåmko’ Workshops, as well as retail teams driving community giving through donation campaigns.
“Giving back is a part of who we are,” said Michele Catahay Perez, Director of Community Relations. “Even during times of recovery, our employees continue to show up for our island community. This recognition reflects their heart for service and the difference they make every day.”
