GTA Preparing Network and Operations Ahead of Tropical System

(Tamuning, Guam) Thursday, July 2, 2026- With Tropical Storm Bavi expected to move closer to our region in the coming days, GTA has activated its standard storm preparedness procedures and is taking proactive steps to stay ahead of any potential impacts.

Teams across the company are closely monitoring weather conditions and completing routine storm readiness measures, including fueling generators and service vehicles, testing backup power systems, inspecting and securing network facilities, securing Cell on Wheels (COWs), staging recovery equipment, and confirming staffing for essential personnel. GTA's Network Operations Center will remain staffed around the clock to monitor network performance and weather conditions as forecasts evolve.

GTA continues to strengthen its network resilience through expanded backup generator capacity, enhanced power redundancy, and ongoing investments in hardening critical network infrastructure. Combined with the company's established storm preparedness procedures, these efforts help ensure GTA is ready for whatever conditions may develop.

Customers are encouraged to use this time to charge mobile devices and portable battery packs, prepare backup power for home internet equipment if available, enable Wi-Fi Calling on compatible devices, and review their household emergency plans.

GTA will continue to monitor the system closely and provide updates as additional information becomes available.
